Rosamarie Rizzo Parse graduated from Duquesne University with a Bachelor of Science in nursing degree. She was the first woman to obtain a Master’s in Nursing, which she did so at the University of Pittsburgh, where she also later obtained a Ph.D. Rosemarie’s theory was published in 1981, then called Man-Living Health. This theory was later changed to the Humanbecoming Theory (Paradigm) in 1992 due to the definition of “Man” being changed from meaning humankind. Rosemarie Parse is also the founder of Nursing Science Quarterly and a published author of nine books and over 100 nursing editorials and article’s (Rosemarie, n.d.).
