To Comment:

After reviewing the selected guideline databases on page 185 of our textbook, Melnyk and Fineout-Overholt (2015), I found that there are not any databases that are specific to orthopedics. However, being that I work in the hospital and encounter many patients on the orthopedic/ spine unit with different diseases and conditions, I could use databases such as the Primary Care Clinical Practice guidelines, National Guideline Clearinghouse (NGC), CMA Infobase, and National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE). These databases provide guidelines grounded on evidence-based practices that could be beneficial in research. In addition, when searching for career questions, a guideline database that could be beneficial is the Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario (RNAO) because it provides information on careers, events, membership, and best practice nursing guidelines.
