After 1945, many Germans looked back on the Weimar Republic with nostalgia and regret. Yet during the time span from 1919-1933, hardly any commentators seemed happy with conditions in Germany. Why did so many authors find Weimar politics and society to be disorienting and unappealing? Choose at least four authors from the Week Four sources and expound on their critiques of Weimar Germany. Why might the National Socialists have seemed to offer a kind of “solution” to the problems identified by these authors?
